I think we ought to give Remus a proper burial. I was too angry and hasty to consider doing much of anything, which is why the Defence classroom has continued to be off limits. But a near week has tempered my rationality and I think that in spite of what has happened, he deserves interment by those who thought they knew him best. Beth and Hestia, I'll need your help when the time comes.

Rufus and I have talked and we are aware that some of you are already working on setting the castle up in case we are attacked. We would like for everyone to make this a priority in addition to training and other duties. We want defences of any kind laid out -- traps, wards, anything you can think of that will cause maximum damage to our enemies.

I want this place impenetrable by the time we're through.
